Trade Union Education
Trade unions are committed to promoting education in the workplace and improving organisational performance.
Working with government bodies, employers and providers nationally, train unions are helping develop training and learning opportunities for working adults (members and non-members alike). At Warrington Collegiate, the Trade Union Education programme is well-developed and one of the best in the country. It is developed in partnership with the TU Education and provides accredited courses for union representatives and members throughout Cheshire and Merseyside.
Warrington Collegiate has been awarded with several awards since 2008, including the Unionlearn Quality Award, Good Practices in Working with Trade Unions and Good Practices in Teaching and Learning.
All tutors are experienced trade unionists who understand the role of the union in the workplace, the role of its representatives and the problems they face. Courses cover a range of trade union issues including: employment law, health & safety, equality and lifelong learning. In addition, bespoke training courses are available upon request.
