Exciting opportunity for engineering apprentices at Winsford company Tiger Trailers

Local employer Tiger Trailers, based in Winsford, are getting ready for their fourth intake of apprentices in September 2017 via Warrington & Vale Royal College.

Working from their state of the art manufacturing facility in Winsford, Tiger understands the importance of developing and encouraging young talent into the industry. In partnership with Warrington & Vale Royal College, Tiger has developed a two year programme leading to a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacturing. The company's continuous investment into the apprenticeship will ensure it builds a skilled workforce of the future enabling them to continue producing high quality products.

Tiger apprentices learn and experience all the major manufacturing stages in the production process.

Working with a skilled mentor, they spend four months in each department (including fabrication, chassis build, assembly, air and electrical systems through to trailer completion). They are supported throughout the programme with regular reviews and assessments at each key stage.

Before new apprentices start working on the shop floor, they receive one week basic training at college to teach them the basic workshop skills and safe working practices.

Following basic training they go to college on day release where they will receive workshop training to ensure they achieve the required standards for the Level 2 apprenticeship.

Applications for this apprenticeship are being processed by Warrington & Vale Royal College.
