26 year old Stacey, who is studying Access to HE – Art & Design at the college, told the Guardian: “Art is something anybody can do. People of all ages from toddlers to those in their 90s, people with disabilities or mental health problems – it doesn’t just benefit one group of people, it can benefit anybody.”
Stacey discovered that art gave her a new focus after being told by doctors it was unlikely she would be able to conceive. She decided to share her experience with the local newspaper in the hope of helping others in need of support.
“I had based my career options around having a family so I needed to focus on something I wanted to do for myself,” Stacey told the Guardian.
“Each person has their own worries in life – to be able to go somewhere to relieve that is one of the best things about art.”
Stacey has already received fantastic feedback on her idea on Facebook and is now looking to gain enough support and funding to make her dream a reality. Search ‘Stacey Jones Art/Projects’ on Facebook.
